This hike is perfect for travelers who want to experience Mount Cameroon without the challenge of reaching the summit. Starting from the base in Buea, the trail takes you on a three-hour climb through dense tropical rainforest alive with birds and unique plant life. After reaching Hut 1, the path continues for about an hour and a half, leading you out of the forest and into the open savannah zone around the Intermediate Hut. At this point, you’ll already be standing at over 2,200 meters of altitude, rewarded with panoramic views of Buea, the Atlantic coast, and the rolling landscapes. This hike blends nature, culture, and adventure—ideal for those short of time but want a taste of the Mount Cameroon National Park without committing to the demanding summit trek.
