We propose you to leave for a stay in a bucolic setting in the Douala-édéa reserve to discover the village Elog Ngango which in 1890 welcomed the Pallottine Fathers and allowed them to build the first Catholic church in Cameroon. It is a beautiful escape which will make you discover the Ossa lake, to circulate in the middle of the plantations of hevea and oil palm trees that leads us to the island of the chimpanzees of Pongo-Songo.
It takes about 110 km of paved road to Edea before taking the road that will lead us to the chimpanzee island.
Once in Pongo-Songo, we will navigate on the waters of the Sanaga, the longest river in Cameroon, to see these primates and of course to bring them food. Physical contact is impossible with both the small chimpanzees and the large groups living on the islands in the middle of the Sanaga River. However, during the feeding of the hominids, the visitors will be spectators of the different scenes that animate the animal life on the islands of Elog Ngango village.
