The chimpanzee sanctuary of pongo songo is located in the heart of the Douala Edea natural park. You can visit it and admire chimpanzees up close, rehabilitated in freedom and protected islands. Unfortunately for safety, security and health reasons, direct contact with the primates is no longer accepted. This activitygives you only access to the reserve to visit the protected chimpanzees. By booking this activity, you should be able to get to the departure point on time by your own means. Visits are possible on Wednesdays, saturdays and sundays only.

Many respect to the work of the Guides! These guys deserve all our support! Without them this Breathtaking experience would not have been possible. The chimpanzees are our closest relatives and in Great danger of extention!
Also the Sanaga river is to be mentioned, stunning!
We would have liked a little bit more information from the guides, preferably after the boat trip and the visit to the chimpanzees. During the visit, you are too fascinated by the chimpanzees to absorb any information.
