Set off for a day of escape to discover the Blue Lagoon, an artificial lake that has become one of the most surprising tourist attractions in Northern Cameroon. Located near Lagdo, this site charms visitors with its turquoise waters, soothing landscapes, and opportunities for exploration.
From Garoua, your driver will pick you up at your hotel or residence. Upon arrival, the tour begins with a stop at the Lagdo Dam—an impressive structure that regulates the region’s waters. You will learn about its history and its importance to the North of the country.
You will then embark on a canoe ride across the lake to reach the peaceful Rock Hyrax Island, a natural habitat for these discreet small mammals, which can be observed amid well-preserved vegetation.
The visit concludes with an open-air local lunch in a natural setting that invites relaxation.
For those who wish, it is possible to enjoy the Blue Lagoon’s beach and even swim before heading back to Garoua.
