Maroua - Ziver Blacksmith on 80 km of paved road
We will drive 80km to reach the city of Mokolo with its thousand hills and its more than one million inhabitants of which 7 big tribes are represented: The largest is the Mafa tribe, followed by the Kapsiki tribe, and the others (Hidé, Goudou, Mandara, Bana, hina). However, you will admire how all these populations live together and in harmony.
Still within 80 km, we will visit the sacred place of "Haut fourneau" where a ceremony is always organized before extracting the iron (this ceremony consists of immolating a chicken, wearing traditional clothes and to the rhythm of the cultural instruments, the inhabitants sing and dance around the smelter.
After the iron is extracted and consolidated, the forger will be able to use iron to manufacture hoes, cutlasses, knives, and other metal materials that we find in the market of Maroua and elsewhere.
Discover the touristic city of Mokolo
We will take a guided tour of the museum of civilizations of the Fulani people in Mokolo and with a lot of luck, we will have the opportunity to meet His Majesty Mohamadou, the 1st degree sultan of Mokolo.

Arrival in Rhumsiki, symbol of tourism in the sub-region
The people of the Kapsiki Tribe that you will discover is a population of more than 118,000 inhabitants, living in harmony. According to some travelers and experts in tourism, like André Gide, French writer who has traveled almost around the world, the landscape of Rhumsiki remains one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. Before arriving in Rhumsiki, we will stop at Rafa to take pictures of the beautiful panoramic view of Rafa.
We will arrive to Rhumsiki where we will find the Peak, symbol of the Tourism of the Subregion. We will spend the night and have dinner in the beautiful village of Rhumsiki. The inhabitants of the village, using traditional musical instruments, may play beautiful melodies to brighten up your evening.
Sunrise, hiking, crab wizard, chilla chilla dance.
For those who wish with no extra cost, at 5am and 5 minutes walk from the camp, we will sit on rocks while watching the beautiful sunrise, and your guide will tell you the history of the village, show you and explain the evolution of religion in the region through the tombs of animists, Muslims and Christians. After this moment of sharing, we will have our beautiful reward, THE MAGNIFICENT SUNRISE IN RHUMSIKI.
Back to the camp for a small lunch before starting the hike in the valley. Alternatively, if participants wish, we can start the trek directly into the Rhumsiki valley after the sunrise view before returning to the camp for breakfast.
The 3 hours trekking in the valley of Rhumsiki allows us to visit the small village of Rhumsiki, to meet the Weavers and the Potters of the village and the crab wizard. You could ask two questions to the crab wizard and from the third question you will have to pay 1000FCFA per question.
For the end of our tour, we will attend the traditional and unique dance "Chilla Chilla" of the Kapsiki people in Rhumsiki.
