Overview

“Messa”: Straddling the Carrière, Mbankolo and Nkolbisson districts, Mount Messa has a summit that faces Mount Mbankolo. At an altitude of about 1010 metres, it has a magnificent stone cliff on one of its flanks. Its name “Messa” is the plural of “Assa”, which in the Ewondo language refers to the plum tree (scientific name: Prunus), composed of “Akok” (rock) and “Ndoué” (hawks) in the local language (Ewondo). At the top of the mountain, there is a magnificent view of the city of Yaoundé.
