How Do You Get to Dizangué?

Dizangué can be reached from Édéa, Douala and Kribi. However, visitors should organise their transport and book their canoe ride in the lake before travelling.

From Édéa to Dizangué

Dizangué is approximately 30 minutes from Édéa. You can travel with your own vehicle or take a motorcycle taxi at the Gare de Dizangue in Edea, bikes will welcome you with open hands.

A motorcycle journey may cost around XAF 2,000 to XAF 2,500 each way. Therefore, budget approximately XAF 4,000 to XAF 5,000 for the return journey.

These fares are estimates and the ones we have used for a couple of years. Nevertheless, use this as a negotiation base. Always agree on the price with the driver before departure.

For Car rental, you can also find vehicles at the station that can take you to Dizangue, prices vary from 10,000XAF to 15,000 XAF for drop off.

From Douala/Kribi to Dizangué

From Douala or Kribi, first travel towards Édéa. Then continue from Édéa to Dizangué.

Because traffic leaving Douala can be unpredictable, depart early. You should also allow extra time for the final section of the journey.

If departing from Kribi, expect less traffic. If driving to Kribi, you can equally plan a stop in Dizangue, have your canoe ride experience, before continuing to Kribi.

What Is the Road to Dizangué Like?

The road can be uneven, particularly after heavy rain or around ongoing roadworks. Nevertheless, a 4X4 or four wheel drive vehicle is not necessarily needed, a standard vehicle can generally complete the journey between Edea and Dizangue.

Once you reach the centre of Dizangué, most short distances can be covered on foot.
